File your FAFSA!  Authorization to release financial information forms were mailed to financial aid offices the week of April 3.  This form gives a scholar's permission for his or her school to release to the Scholars Program certain financial information needed to renew the J.L. Bedsole Scholarship.  Your school cannot provide us with this needed financial information until you file your FAFSA.  The quickest way to accomplish this is by filing online.  Click here for a link to the FAFSA website. 

 One requirement of The J.L. Bedsole Scholarship is keeping current contact information on file with the Scholars Program at all times.  In order for you to remain in good standing with the program, the following information must always be kept current:

     1. Your mailing address while school is in session.  
     2. Your dorm or apartment phone number.
     3. Your cell phone number (if you have one).
     4. Your home/permanent mailing address and phone number.  
     5. Your e-mail address.
     6. Your major and expected date of graduation.

Changes to any of this information should be reported to the Scholars Program immediately.  Failure to provide us with accurate information in a timely manner can delay or prevent you from receiving funding and result in your expulsion from the Scholars Program.

 As mentioned in last fall's newsletter, e-mail addresses for J.L. Bedsole Foundation staff changed last year.  We are still having problems contacting a few of you via e-mail because your e-mail software categorizes our messages as spam.  It is imperative that each and every Bedsole Scholar receives our e-mails and responds to them in a timely fashion.  Most of the time, these e-mails consist of text messages only.  However, we may attach documents as PDF or other file types.  So please make sure that you update your electronic address books and add our e-mail addresses to your list of those people from whom you will receive mail.  Also remember to check your mail often.  It does no good for our e-mails to sit in your inbox unread for weeks!

 The first J.L.
